R.I.P. MCA, your influence lives on…

Equillibrium‘s roots with the Beastie Boys have memories of “Fight for your Right to Party” and a few others of that era… however it wasn’t until skateboarding came into the lifestyle equation were the Beastie Boys in regular listening rotation.

“Ad-Rock” (Adam Horovitz from Manhattan) is the biggest punk ass “skater” of the three (and is our founder’s favorite), although the others hit home too:  “Mike D.”- Michael Diamond from Queens the one with an eye for style/ fashion and “MCA”- Adam Yauch from Brooklyn founder of the Beasties and righteous advocate…

Their wit and humor about our “sub/pop-culture” at the time with roots in NYC’s hard-core punk scene resonated HARD with us, and always will. Thank you for putting this group together Adam Yauch! Luv the timeless gifts it has brought, and ALL kool kulture that has stuck from its “adolescent” influence in our lives! As they say, “If you used to be you NEVER were!” So with that said, here’s to the eternal being you ARE! R.I.P. MCA…PUNX FOREVER!
